Yoga Therapy sessions are fully personalized. As the instructor evaluates and learns the individual need of the student, the instructor designs a special sequence of postures applying the principles of biomechanics and understanding of physiology. The instructor will introduce the appropriate changes and adjustments to release blocked areas, correct posture and movement patterns to improve the routine of health.
The focus of the work goes beyond healing injuries and physical disorders and pain. It also seeks to improve the functions of joints and organs, reducing stress levels and create deep body awareness. It is indicated, specifically for people with spinal pathology as back pain, neck pain, scoliosis, disc disease or suffering from headaches, sciatica, deep contractures, joint pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, digestive disorders, insomnia, hypertension, postural problems, breathing difficulties and other psychosomatic disorders. And in general, for Yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their practice by increasing awareness of the body and rebalancing the natural flow of prana (breath) through it. The program of Yoga, Pilates and Fitness for athletes in Ser Om Shanti Yoga Studio is focused on optimizing the sporting gesture. The instructor will assist the athlete whether professional or armature to achieve consistency, endurance and enhanced performance. After an assessment, the instructor develops a work program tailored around the goals, needs and interests of the athlete. The program is offered in preference to the student, either in a small group or individually.
The program enhances all the benefits that are obtained from Yoga or Pilates practice by guiding the athlete to achieve increased flexibility, muscle strength, elasticity and joint mobility in order to expand the range of motion. The instructor will help the athlete to improve in technique, increase coordination and speed thus to lessen the chance of injury and increase the speed in recovery times. The athlete will be guided to retrieve the symmetry in the body by working unilaterally sports like golf or tennis. Additional benefits include, increase balance, strength and proprioception; high resistance and increase lung capacity and to minimize pre-post competitive stress. .
